Wood Brothers Racing Homestead-Miami Sprint Cup Post Race Report ; Elliott Closes Out Season with Best Finish in 12th
Homestead, FL (November 16, 2008) In the last race of the 2008, Bill Elliott, behind the wheel of the no. 21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion, closed out the year by taking the checkered flag in 12th and along with good calls from the team, he earned his best finish of the season, respectfully, in the Wood Brothers Racing machine.

Bill Elliott Behind the Wheel of the No. 21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion at Homestead-Miami Speedway

Harrisburg, NC (November 13, 2008)-Bill Elliott will make his 8th start at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the Ford Championship Weekend behind the wheel of the no. 21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion.

Elliott made history in 2001 when he won the race from the pole. In 2003, he led an exciting race for 189 laps and battled Bobby Labonte going to the checkered flag, but cut a tire and finished 8th. “It’s an unfortunate thing, I don’t know if I’ve won one like that before, but I’ve sure lost them like that,” said Elliott in the post race interview.

BEDD Weekend Recap: October 31 – November 2
Roderick, Cobb make strong runs at Nashville; Elliott, Poole go head-to-head at Anderson

Dawsonville, Ga. (November 5, 2008) – The sparks were flying at the Music City Motorplex (Nashville, Tenn.) and at Anderson Motor Speedway (Williamston, S.C.) as the Bill Elliott Driver Development team hit the track for a big weekend of short-track racing. BEDD driver Mitch Cobb set a new track record at the Music City Motorplex during CRA Super Series qualifying but fell victim to broken equipment for the second race in a row. Casey Roderick made a drive from the back to the front in the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour event, which attracted some of the best ASA drivers from the Southeast and Midwest. Chase Elliott and Trey Poole went head-to-head at Anderson and were looking to finish first and second with the two strongest cars in the field before a racing incident between the BEDD teammates took both out of contention.

Elliott Finished the Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway in 31st
Fort Worth, TX(November 2, 2008)-The Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway was a race that left several teams perplexed with the surface that changed throughout the day until night event. Bill Elliott in the Wood Brothers Racing no. 21 Little Debbie Ford Fusion, ran a clean race under the green flag that waved for most of the evening and finished 31st.

Following Richard Petty’s endorsement earlier in October, Bill Elliott, Cale Yarborough, Greg Biffle, Jamie McMurray and Jack Roush gave their vote of confidence to John McCain on Friday, October 31st..

The move may help McCain in the NASCAR belt, where it looks like North Carolina and Virginia will be extremely close races.

A news release quotes Yarborough as saying, “John McCain is a real American hero, and I am proud to endorse him for President of the United States.”

He recently turned 53 years of age, and he's still racing.

In fact, Bill Elliott will race not only in the Sprint Cup Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend (probably for the final time in his career), but also in the Bill Elliott 50 Red Dirt Dash Late Model event at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga., which is located just north of Atlanta.

Chase Elliott, Trey Poole Make Strong Rookie Runs at 2008 Legends Car Asphalt Nationals
(Dawsonville, Ga. – October 10, 2008) In their first career national events, Bill Elliott Driver Development teammates Chase Elliott and Trey Poole made strong runs at Elko (Minn.) Speedway last weekend in the 2008 Legends Car Asphalt Nationals. Elliott, who was the youngest driver in the Semi-Pro division, practiced, qualified and raced in the top-10 all weekend, ultimately posting a sixth place finish in the main event. Poole started the 50-lap Pro feature in eighth and was comfortably inside the top-ten before spinning as he attempted to pass for position on the last lap and was relegated to a 13th place finish.
