Wood Brothers Racing Richmond II Post Race Report
Elliott Finished 35th in Chevy Rock & Roll driving no. 21 U.S. Air Force Ford Fusion

Richmond, VA (September 7, 2008)- After Saturday’s race was delayed until Sunday, September 7th due to Tropical Storm Hanna’s presence in the Richmond area, Bill Elliott started the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 in the 37th position. Elliott used the first 10 laps to get a feel for the no. 21 Wood Brothers Racing U.S. Air Force Ford Fusion, since there had been no practice and no track activity since Friday. As he raced around the 35th position, caution flew on lap 35. Bill reported that the car needed more traction coming off of the corners and that he was experiencing a tight condition. He believed that as more laps were run on the track, it would eventually get tighter and less slick as it was under the hot sun. Crew Chief David Hyder brought the no. 21 down pit road for four tires, fuel and adjustments. Bill restarted in the 36th position on lap 42. On lap 84, leader Dale Earnhardt Jr. passed Elliott to put the no.21 one lap down.

Cousins Trey Poole and Chase Elliott have racing in their blood. Trey’s grandfather and namesake Jack “Hotrod” Poole was burning up the track in Beaumont, Texas in the early fifties. Currently, his uncle and Chase’s dad, Bill Elliott, mentor the pair and has coached them to victory this summer as they've made the rounds between Charlotte and Atlanta.

CASEY RODERICK TASTES VICTORY AGAIN AT ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD by Amy Hayes
Youngster Dominates and Claims Final "Big" Victory of the 2006 Season
14-year-old Casey Roderick has a name that has been synonymous with Legends car racing all season long. He has dominated the Pro Division wherever he has raced, claiming the 2006 Summer Shootout Champion at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (NC), the 2006 Legends Nationals Pro Division title at Lanier National Speedway (GA), and the Mason-Dixon Meltdown Legends feature winner at South Boston Speedway (VA). Now he has added another victory to that list. Roderick’s latest victory came at Orlando SpeedWorld during the 2006 Mopar Sprint & Midget Classic Legends 20-lap feature event.
And it was a good race to watch. Roderick started on the pole, and didn’t have to take too many looks back during the 20-lap feature. The only two drivers who had anything for him were veteran Legends winner and fellow Georgia native Doug Stevens and North Carolina boy Craig Goess Jr. And they both made their presence known to Roderick.
